The small town of Piedmont, Louisiana, is home to Sharp’s BBQ, a restaurant that has become an integral part of the community. The brainchild of Logan Sharp, who had a backyard dream that turned into a reality, the restaurant has gained a reputation for serving mouth-watering BBQ that celebrates the town’s charm. Logan Sharp’s love affair with BBQ began when he would watch BBQ Pitmasters on television, mesmerized by the art of smoking meats. He would often cook for gatherings and tailgates, experimenting with different recipes and techniques. His dad, sensing his son’s passion, suggested that Sharp open a restaurant, and he could occupy the space next to his dad’s barbershop. Sharp recalls, “Never competed, never even worked at a restaurant. We did it just – went for it.”
With the support of his family, Sharp embarked on the BBQ business seven years ago. In the early days, he faced a unique challenge – sleeping at work every night. He had to ensure that the smoker was constantly fed with wood to maintain the required temperature. This involved setting up a cot in the back, setting his alarm every two hours, and working tirelessly to keep the smoker going. Sharp reminisces, “I had a cot laid out in the back and I had my alarm set for every two hours. That was the toughest part I’ve ever been through in my life. I got literally no sleep, just constantly smoking. It was rough.”
Despite the grueling hours, Sharp persevered, and his hard work paid off. Today, Sharp’s BBQ is renowned for its slow-cooked meats, smoked to perfection with pecan wood, which gives them a subtle sweet finish. The restaurant’s menu features a range of popular items, including:

  1. Ribs
  2. Brisket
  3. Turkey
  4. Bill’s Spicy BBQ Beans
  5. Green Beans

The restaurant is open only on Thursdays through Sundays, with hours of operation from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Due to its outdoor-only seating, visitors can enjoy the rustic charm of the restaurant while savoring the delicious food.

“We’re just a small town restaurant, but we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished,”

Sharp says. “We’re not trying to be fancy or anything. We just want to serve good food to our community.”
