The South Dakota Outdoor Recreation Foundation (SDORF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting outdoor recreation activities in the state. He pointed out that the state’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities are a major draw for tourists and residents alike. He also stressed the need for collaboration between state and local governments, as well as private sector stakeholders, to ensure the sustainability of outdoor recreation in South Dakota. Nyberg’s comments came during a recent meeting of the South Dakota Outdoor Recreation Council.

This land is located in various locations across the foundation’s portfolio, including in the United States and internationally. The foundation has a long history of leasing land to businesses and organizations, and this practice has been a consistent source of income for the foundation. The foundation’s endowment principal is a significant portion of its total assets. This endowment principal is invested in a diversified portfolio of assets, including stocks, bonds, and real estate.
